February Newsletter

I blinked for a second, and here we are in the second month of 2022.  January was a whirlwind of activity and February is looking about the same.  Thank you to everyone who participated in our Kansas Day celebration. You are the ones who make this social celebration successful.   We were thrilled with the many positive responses we received from our To The Stars Kansas Day Video and will be integrating the video into our marketing messaging.  We truly loved seeing all your creative and inspiring salutes to Kansas.  Our internal team is already talking about how we can make next year’s Kansas Day even better.

Kansas Tourism has two grants open right now.  The TASK grant and the ADGP grant are both designed to spur new tourism development in our state.  There is more information below in this newsletter on both these grants, so make sure you check them out.

I hope to see you in Topeka on Feb 9 for the Kansas Tourism Open House.  This is our first official chance to show off our new offices at the Dept of Commerce since we moved here last July.  The Open House is Wednesday, Feb 9 from 1:30 – 3:30 and we hope you will stop by for a tour and a chance to get to know us a little better.

In honor of February and Valentine’s Day, I will leave you with some wisdom from Charles M. Schulz. “All you need is love.  But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.”

Have a wonderful February.  Stay Warm.

Kansas Tourism Regions

Partnership

Have you connected with your local tourism marketing region yet?

Kansas Tourism has made it a priority to market the state regionally as visitors respond well to this approach. In Kansas there are six tourism regions, and each region has an organization that represents their members. By being a part of your regional organization, you have access to additional marketing and advertising opportunities. Kansas Tourism depends heavily on these regional organizations to help direct our marketing efforts. If you are not sure what region you are in, or how to get in contact with them, reach out to Kelli Orender and she can help you get to the correct person.
