Kansas Agritourism Summit

I am so excited to announce that Kansas Tourism will be hosting the first ever, one day Agritourism Summit! This day will be full of education and networking opportunities. The event will be held in Manhattan, KS on January 5th, 2023, so be sure to get it on your calendars!

 Tourism Marketing Grants Now Open!

Do you have a great idea to help market your agritourism business? We are now accepting applications for this round of our Tourism Marketing Grant! The application deadline is September 1st, 2022 and the awardees will be announced in October.

Celebrate Kansas Businesses! 

The Kansas Department of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 2022 To The Stars: Celebrating Kansas Businesses Awards. The annual awards program recognizes businesses across the state for the valuable contributions they make to the Kansas economy and to the well-being of their communities. This year I am excited to announce the addition of the AgriBusiness category! To make your nominations click below!

Travel season is in full swing and with rising gas prices you may be seeing a spike in the number of in-state travelers looking for fun things to do in their surrounding areas! Make sure to have plenty of our 2022 Kansas Travel Guides on hand. These guides are perfect to provide at events, meetings and tours. We will ship them to you for free. If you are not sure how to order, reach out to Jaimee.Salalac@ks.gov and we will get you set up.

 The Sunflower State is about to Bloom!  

Sunflowers are a HUGE attraction in our wonderful state, after all it is our state flower! We we have put together a page on our TravelKS.com website, that answers many questions about the state flower, as well as a list of all the farms that have public sunflower fields to visit and enjoy! With your help, we will be keeping this page up-to-date with active sunflower bloom dates and important operation information such as operating hours and entry fees or donations. If you do not see your name on the current list please reach out and I will get you added!

If you have any up coming events on the farm we would love to share them on our website! Our events page is one of the most visited pages on our website and we want to make sure it is full of fun and exciting events that are happening all around the state! If you are hosting any type of event such as, goat yoga, farm tours, wine wagons... just to name a few, we want to hear about it!
