Special message from Sally Fuller - Director of the Liberal CVB:

As I sit here at my desk the day following the 2021 Kansas Tourism Conference, I want you all to know how much of an impact you made on my community. Conferences in big cities make an economic impact but are barely noticed among the many other things going on in those locations. In a smaller community like Liberal, an extra 130 plus people in restaurants, retail outlets and at local bars singing karaoke is noticed.

Jan and I had breakfast at the Pancake House Thursday morning and the owner came by the table to thank me for hosting the event and telling me she had several people come in and how good it had been for her business. She also mentioned how complimentary you all were of Liberal and the event.

I delivered a check for locally made salsa, purchased as gifts for the speakers, to a small family-owned deli only open for lunch Monday through Friday and another to a small, employee-owned office supply company where the programs were printed. That business meant a lot to those small companies and I really appreciated our executive team for purchasing local.

A local music store sold 2 microphone stands in one day. I doubt that happens often. The music store is also a family-owned business that sells, rents and services instruments to band students in Liberal and the surrounding area and has done so for over 40 years.

At least one group shopped at two local retail stores, taco trucks had a good Tuesday night and I know of several who were going to Dorothy’s House and the Land of Oz before they left on Thursday. I am sure there are businesses who were impacted that I am unaware of but you get the idea.

Your presence was noticed. Your business was appreciated. Your impact went beyond economic. Thank you for coming to Liberal and making a difference.
