Updates You Should Know

(Please note bolded updates are new)
  • The 2020 Kansas Tourism Conference Registration Grant program has been developed to assist Kansas tourism organizations in the cost of attending the 2020 Kansas Tourism Conference, Oct. 19-21, 2020 in Liberal, KS.

2020 was a year of unprecedented challenges for the Kansas Tourism industry.  The Kansas Tourism division of KDWPT realizes that these challenges have budget repercussions that will limit the ability for our tourism partners to gather this October at our annual conference. This year, more than ever before, it is imperative that we join together to provide support and expand our recovery education.

Kansas Tourism as developed a grant to cover registration costs of our Kansas tourism partners to attend the annual conference to 2020.  Watch for registration information to be released soon that will also include information on the grant.

  • SimpleView has also released a COVID-19 research hub. They have sampled 200 DMO websites for analytics statistics. This week's update: Growth continued this week, at a slightly lower rate than last, with 2.2% increase per day on average and 16% for the week. Regionally, the recovery has been strongest in the US South, where several states have begun to end the shutdown. Recovery is stronger among visitors from fly and drive markets than locals, although all types have shown improvement in delivering sessions to DMO websites.
